This is an example of routine decay removal and filling with composite bonding material. One visit of about 30-40 minutes involving restoration of two teeth. No down time at all. Huge improvement both physically with the actual teeth, but also some great emotional gain for this patient with relative ease.

This patient wished to improve his smile from an aesthetic standpoint while also restoring lost vertical dimension due to years of grinding and general wear. He decided to close the space - what is called a midline diastema. The second shot is not of the final result, but only of his temporary restorations. It’s actually great to be able to show people that even the temporaries can look great and can act as a test run for the final result. We didn’t actually get his final result photos taken as yet, but I think these shots are actually quite informative for people. This patient had twelve upper teeth prepared for all porcelain crowns in addition to laser recontouring of his gum tissues to achieve proper symmetry. It involved a four hour visit to prep the teeth and the final restorations took about three hours to insert - three weeks between visits but not a problem with good looking temporaries. Final photos to follow!

This patient also had twelve upper crowns prepared in order to address severe tetracycline staining, heavy wear, and poor gum contours. We were able to completely mask all staining, rebuild his bite and provide added vertical dimension to replace his worn enamel, and also properly contour his gingival tissues with a diode laser to provide more symmetrical shaping that is more masculine in nature than the initial tapered presentation. This procedure took about four hours of preparation time and about an hour and a half of insertion time. Two visits not including the work-up and consultation visits. Two to three weeks between preparation and insertion.

This case involved six front upper teeth, also done in all porcelain. The patient concerns were moderate to severe wear due to grinding and we were able to create an improved smile while also providing properly protected occlusion with specific detailed rebuilding of his bite. We achieved better aesthetics by rebuilding the teeth but also by recontouring his tissues slightly to increase the vertical dimension and provide improved symmetry. About two hours of prep time and an hour and a half for insertion.

This case is an example of some of the initial diagnostic work that we can do that allows us to properly record all aspects of a patient’s smile and bite. We have done all preparatory records for this patient and have worked everything up in wax in order to assess how the final result might look. We simply placed a template of the proposed final result over top of her existing teeth and utilized a flowable temporary material to provide a direct look at what things could look like. This took ten minutes of chair time and the patient was able to wear it home to spend some time assessing things and to gain some valuable feedback from her family and friends. This mock-up peels off rather easily and no damage is done to the underlying teeth. A great way to test run both form and shade!
